Rae Davies is a legend in the world of maternity care. She has been preserving the sacredness of natural birth since the 60's. "Childbirth for the Joy of It", one of the hallmark natural birth films of the time, featured Rae's first birth and provided a standard for women of what was possible. For over thirty years, her professional career has been dedicated to preparing woman for birth through childbirth education, assisting at births, labor support and providing training programs for doulas, childbirth educators, and the general public. She is an endorser of the Mother-Friendly Childbirth Initiative and current executive director of the Coalition for Improving Maternity Services (CIMS) where she represents CIMS on the United States Breastfeeding Committee. Her scope of knowledge goes beyond her Summa Cum Laude in Health Science to encompass an ability to communicate with an enthusiasm that is contagious to all audiences. She was recently selected to represent the US as a co-presenter with international leaders at the World Alliance of Breastfeeding Action (WABA) in Tanzania, Africa, and in New Delhi, India - see press release. |
